Does this sound gay????

I was talking to my gf and I told her that I read the magazines at Home Depot and look in the garden section when my parents are there because the other things bore me. I said I knew some things about interior decorating and plants. She started laughing and said I sounded gay. This really annoyed me because I'm not, of course. I just find that stuff more interesting than tools and crap. She said it sounds gay though since most "gay guys know about home interior design". I think she is just being stereotypical..but what is your opinion?
